“World Trade Center” Starring Nicholas Cage
There is not one single story that has happened during our recent lifetime, that is so full of drama, death, anger, politics, and bravery than the story of what happened on September 11th, 2001 in New York City. Now we are approaching the 5 year anniversary of what the whole world now calls “9/11”. There have been many books published about what happened that day and why. There have been a few smaller movies and websites published about the topic, such as the movie from Michael Moore called “Fahrenheit 911” which was a big hit and a bigger controversy.
We could spend hours talking about the politics of what happened that day. We could spend days talking about conspiracy theories and books published. We could spend months talking about all of the many details that the American government wants people to believe, that just simply are NOT logical, and do not make complete sense if you take the simple time to think about things and put pieces together. America is/was suppose to be the most powerful country on earth, right ? Then this didn’t just happen by accident.
Well, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood put it’s own version onto the big screen. I found in my searching that VSpot – ‘Real Pop Culture. Real Fast’ by Vh1.com has an excellent section set aside for this movie. I recommend that you check out the following link and take some time to view the many movie trailers that they have put together. There are even some interviews with Nicholas Cage and Oliver Stone.
I am a person that has some very strong political beliefs, and that has done a lot of research and reading on this subject. Typically I would not go to see a movie like this because Hollywood will usually twist a story to be more dramatic or more entertaining. This story I feel is way too important to suffer that type of treatment! However, now that I have viewed these trailers and heard some of the interviews with Nicholas Cage and Oliver Stone, I think that I will go to see this movie.
This is because it seems that they really wanted to tell a true story about a few people that gave all of their bravery on that terrifying day. The trailers do not seem to indicate that these guys are trying to play with politics on this movie, or that they are trying to convince people of anything. It just seems that they wanted to tell one or two brave stories that happened on that day.
If the movie really turns out to be just that, then I got to respect these guys. If you go to see this movie, then I would really love to hear your comments!
