I can’t hate you anymore
“What’s Left of Me” was the first hit from the new album by Nick Lachey, but with the release of his second song “I Can’t Hate You Anymore“, there will obviously be many hot songs from this rebound artist. One thing I can say for sure, is that there is a definite theme to this album.
Most people were assuming after the release of the first song that this would be Nick’s “breakup” album. It’s even more obvious now after this second release.
And I’m only talking lyrics here, have you actually seen the videos ? There are so many subtle references with the visual things they pull off in these two videos, that we can only assume his breakup with Jessica was a severe blow to this man. His lyrics and these videos explode with emotion!
Check out Nick’s appearance on the Ellen show. He sings his release “What’s Left of Me” and then he talks to Ellen about his life in 2006.
Notice in that video that his things around the house keep disappearing and fading away – there doesn’t seem to be much left of him, does it ? Nick says to Ellen that this album comes from a “very personal place” inside his life. I can tell that when you listen to him and watch him, that he very much wants to share this “personal place” with the world.
He indicates that it hurts, but it always helps to release the pain and share, and he is thankful that he had his music to put his energy in and help his emotional healing. You GO boy !!
Okay, now on to the video of “I Can’t Hate You Anymore”. This man is the King of beautiful ballads! He was awesome when his group 98degrees was together, but I think now that he has matured and he is solo that there is no limit to what he can do.
I think in this song that he is saying again, that he has been hurting very much, but now he is getting over it, and moving on. It also shows that he understands how life is sometimes because he says, “I Can’t Hate You Anymore”. Mr. Lachey has definately moved on.
Nick is most certainly pointing out the problem to the world though. One of his points in this song is that he gave everything he could to that relationship, but she (Jessica) just didn’t know what she wanted. His lyrics “..you walked away and you stole my life, just to find what you’re looking for” shows how his heart was torn apart, and how apparently lost she was.
Well Nick – Thank you for sharing with us ! You seem to have proven your real heart, and that you’re a real man. I think your album will reach out to many – and probably help to heal a few other hearts along the way.
I give Nick Lachey’s first two releases 5 stars !! Thanks for sharing Nick !

I know some of you will think it’s cheesy, but I like it. I like his music, I think any artist singing from the heart is worth listening to.
